Odds represent the potential payout in relation to the bet placed on a specific betting event. They indicate how much you can win if your bet is successful. Odds can be displayed in various formats, such as decimal odds, fractional odds, or American odds.
Decimal odds: This is the most common way of displaying odds in many countries. The decimal odds show how much you will receive for each unit wagered. For example, if the odds are 2.00 and you place a 10-euro bet, you would receive 20 euros in total, which includes your original stake.
Fractional odds: This format is more common in Ireland and the UK. It shows how much you can win relative to your stake. For example, odds of 5/1 mean that for every 1 unit you stake, you will win 5 units if your bet is successful.
American odds: In American odds, plus (+) and minus (-) signs are used. The plus sign (+) indicates how much you can win on a $100 bet, and the minus sign (-) shows how much you need to stake to win $100. For example, +200 means you can win $200 by betting $100, while -200 means you need to bet $200 to win $100.
